Residential Remodeling
The Company's primarily focus is on remodeling projects, thus far ranging
in price from $70,000 to $500,000. Typical remodeling projects range
from conversions (of Capes and ranches to colonials) to additions (expanding
homes to include larger kitchens, one or two garages, great rooms, master,
office or guest suites, in-law apartments, etc.). Projects have also
included relocating existing homes on their current property then enhancing
the structure with new additions; some designs have resulted in the
new home being expanded to twice the size of the original. Several projects
have involved razing the existing house and rebuilding a new home to
meet the clients' needs.
Framing
Derba Construction is well known as a quality residential framer, having
completed well over one hundred fifty houses and condominiums in the
areas that it services. Many local building inspectors are familiar
with the high quality for which Derba Construction has become known.
Historically, framing projects have ranged from the building of ranch
homes, second level additions (ranch to colonial conversions), two-story
additions to the construction of "spec" houses for the Company (up to
a 4,500-square-foot home to date) or for developers (thus far the largest
being a 8,700-square-foot, three-story house).
Commercial Construction
Derba Construction's commercial projects have included framing and construction
of new steel and wood structures (among them nationally franchised food
outlets) as well as remodeling of office and other commercial space.
The Company has experience in masonry block construction, multi-family
residences and small-to-medium sized condominiums and has built office-garage
commercial structures as well.
Foundation Work
Derba Forms Incorporated, a sister company of Derba Construction, Inc.,
is available to customers and does much of the foundation work for the
Company's remodeling clients. Common ownership improves the ability
to better meet schedule requirements, avoiding delays once excavation
work has commenced and allows insurance of quality work from the very
outset of a project. Derba Forms Incorporated also does foundation work
as well as special concrete projects for area builders and homeowners.
We have made custom concrete stairs, retaining walls and rounded walls
for landscaping in Weston and Chestnut Hills.
